We are now officially closed for the season, however our trustees and volunteers are working behind the scenes to prepare for 2026.

We are happy to welcome visitors, with at least 24 hours advance notice.  Please contact us for more information or to arrange a visit.

We will be running some events over the winter period. Please check our Events section or Facebook page for more details.

From April to October, Invergordon Naval Museum and Heritage Centre is open Monday to Friday, 1pm - 4pm . When there is a cruise liner in port, we open at 10am. At other times, visits are welcome by prior arrangement.

We also have a room which is available for hire and can seat up to 30 people.

The museum is run by the community and opened by volunteers - so your donations are vital in enabling us to open to visitors.

We are always looking for new volunteers to help in the museum. We welcome all ages.

How to find us

From A9 heading South:

Take the left Invergordon Industrial Estate exit at the Tomich Junction. This takes you onto Academy Road. Follow Academy Road all the way along until you come to the give way sign. Turn left onto Castle Road and then, at the next give way sign, turn left to go through the town. Keep going past the garage on the right. Go a little further and you will see the sign for the Royal British Legion Scotland on the right. The museum entrance is down the small road where the sign is. It may be necessary to park on the street, though there are a few parking spaces directly in front of the museum doors.

From A9 heading North:

Look for signs for Alness/Invergordon and take the exit. As you come to the roundabout, take the left hand exit and follow the road round past Dalmore Farm following the B817. As the road turns to 30mph take the left-hand turn onto High Street. Follow the road straight up and through the town and keep going past the garage on the right. Go a little further and you will see the sign for the Royal British Legion Scotland on the right. The museum entrance is down the small road where the sign is. It may be necessary to park on the street, though there are a few parking spaces directly in front of the museum doors.
